Shiva : God of Death

After seeing some of the stills - my prediction of the movie line somehow reminds of the movie that I saw few years back - Kate & Leopold, story of the Duke who time travels from 1876 to present. I guess probably the reverse might happen in Kamal hassan movie. I like Kamal’s effort always and with K.S. Ravikumar, this could be a new for south indian or Indian movie industry.

Above image you could see the time clock with year in it 2004, just a guess. What do you think? and eitherwise good luck to the team and we will get know in few months.

Just watched the movie “Michael Clayton”. Brilliant performance by George Clooney, Tilda Swinton and mind blowing music by James Newton Howard.

Recently I have seen many couples have hard time understanding and working together. To me, it is because lack of responsibility, not really knowing what to do in their life/time, low self-esteem, gossip nature, comparison, etc., both sides. Just throwed my thoughts..

I have this huge question on my head for long time. I read somewhere that when you love someone you give them the ability to hurt you more. My belief is that if you take love as positive influence in your life - you will have a peaceful life - what might come. And in love just one person belief is not sufficient, the other partner if they contribute towards affection, love strengthens and it does wonders in life.

But, when the thoughts are different and things becomes materialistic, it gets tough as going. Sometimes we had to sacrifice our own dreams for our wife, husband, kids or parents, not that they do not care, but then circumstances and situations like health, sudden demise, natural disasters define and change the way we live and we wanted to live. Sanjay Gupta of CNN once mentioned that the world and the people live in fight from all kinds of sickness every  minute and everyday and people always think they are immortals.

The essense of life is the ability to feel immortal and how when love becomes negative, as the priorities of people around us becomes selfish, be it the middleman (bodyshoppers) eating money from consultants work, monopoly of telecom industries sucking the hard earned money, it seems overpriced and because of lack of awareness - how many things you and me would have spent, maybe a car repair, medical insurance coverages. Why the divorce rate increases nowadays? Women have been suppressed for long years in career, family and they deserve every right and safety to live in and lead on. They have to have self-esteem to regain and fight for what they need and deserve and everyone’s life is like that irrespective of the gender. But there is a small portion of guys who value and who truly understand the emotional needs and keeps an open mind on other issues for her. They are in every part of the world, both in developed and under developed countries - who understands and wants to support in every action their better half takes, its not 1920’s or 1970’s. That small portion of guys who take responsibility in their family, work, career, life and sacrifice every possible happiness for the betterment of next generation - gets hit hard.

In pune, everyday 7 people are getting divorced, this cannot be blamed on that girl or the guy. If your partner and if that person is no good - there is no point in thinking what would happen to them if you are not there, because they will never learn and keep hurting more. It is not worth to sacrifice a life for family or for next generation when all you have to do is bend and compromise and to get blamed. For girls, if your person is not right - you have to do what you have to do for your life. But, if your partner falls in this small portion as a good person, respect him and dont hurt - just because he gave the ability to you to do so.

I am supposed to write this post a long back (years back), better now than never.

Went to Baltimore Get Away Sailing for Team Regatta competition in the year 2005 that was organized by my prev client Dennemeyer. That was the first time I went for sailing and the team in getawaysailing were very friendly, courteous and professionals.

Bill, the Senior Team Building Instructor, gave a warm welcome speech and explained to any novice doubts. Being there for the first time, I felt very comfortable and gained confidence. There was a short training session before the start of competition and to increase the adventure, it was very windy and later started raining (actually pouring) on that day.

During the traning session we had a different captain, he taught me good tips and I managed to grasp it quickly. But as it was too windy, the rope got twisted and we had to bring the mainsail and jib down and  the captain and my team members acknowledged me for the efforts I took and it was definitely one life time experience for me.

 Later for the competition, Bill was the captain, we came 4th in the competition (only 4 teams participated..haha). I, for sure know, if me/others in the sailing boat gave full control to Bill, we would have won the competition, but it was a learning curve and may be we came last but it was total fun and felt like winners.

 The best of story is yet to come, well the photos were taken by one of getawaysailing team members and unfortunately I think none of my colleagues got back to them to collect the photos later. After a year - yes - after a year, I thought lets try to contact getawaysailing team to see whether they have those photos by any chance. I got a prompt response from Dick Mead, for sure, we do not come across much people like him in our daily life. This is the snippet of my mail to him around Nov 2006.

“Hi Dick Mead,

  I do not have enough words to thank you for this. Thanks a lot, this is just not some photos rather a good memory - which you just got us. If anytime I sail in Baltimore, it will be in getawaysailing. I will also share the photo gallery to my other office friends…”

He sent me the photos through email and during Christmas, he burnt a CD and sent it my way with photos in it. At that point, it was not about customer satisfaction or any other factor to improve business, it is the humanity touch without expectations and the time he had taken to do this, once again, thanks for your time from myside.
